Re: CommandFusion Compatible Heating and Lighting Systems

Check out this software (Liason GrafikEye programming software)

http://europe.lutron.com/CMS400/page.aspx?id=17797&mn=2035

You could use something like Wireshark to capture the commands going
back and forth.

Doh you did post it.

Those are remarkably similar to RA but you won't be able to use the
plugin to generate the commands.

Can you find the communication spec for that device?

I doubt it is identical to RA (but could be).

It should actually be pretty simple to just write out the commands for
that device. It is relatively simple for RA too but time consuming
because RA can have potentially thousands of commands.

Jarrod,

I intend to rewrite that plugin to take into account some of the
changes in the integration report in later release Ra Essentials
software.

Re: Key sequence for a macro with cut and paste

This is a pretty good idea and an easy one to implement as well. The
trick is figuring out how to demarcate where pasting should be
expected. How about the character string: [%%]?

[appigo-todo] Re: No alerts on iPhone 4

Well don't I feel foolish. I had another post where I found the answer
in the Help Knowledge Base. But did I check there for this problem?
Not immediately.

But I just checked and sure enough there's a note in there saying that
new devices must be re-registered. I guess I didn't go far enough. I'm
not getting the proper alerts. I really have to learn to always RTFM.

Thanks again Appigo.

[appigo-todo] problem syncing

Hi there,
When I sync my iphone to busycal, I get the following error on my
iphone: "Error: check settings." I've gone through and everything
looks correct. Even with the error, it is updating from ical to the
iphone but not from the iphone to busycal. Could you please advise?
Mac is 10.6.3. Appigo Sync is 1.0.5.39 (as an aside, when I attempt to
update Appigo Sync on my computer I get the following error: Update
Error! An error occurred in retrieving update information. Please try
again later.")
Thank you,

Key sequence for a macro with cut and paste

I'd like to write a pie key macro that runs a command that uses the
current paste buffer

E.g

Macro to do the following
nohup wget -q {contents.of.paste.buffer} > nohup.out &

Is this there a key sequence for that I can use to do this - i.e.
Replace the stuff in curly braces?

Thx

Help with regex

Hello !

I have this situation:

When I request, my system myhome Bticino sends:

  *#*1##*1*0*71##*1*0*22##*1*0*72##*1*0*52##*1*0*23##      --> light 72 Off
  *#*1##*1*0*71##*1*0*22##*1*1*72##*1*0*52##*1*0*23##      --> light 72 On

I need to identify this variation, and i can do it, but the problem is it:
Some times, the system change the string order, and i receive something like this:

*#*1##*1*0*71##*1*0*72####*1*0*22*1*0*52##*1*0*23##      --> light 72 Off
     *#*1##*1*0*71##*1*1*72####*1*0*22*1*0*52##*1*0*23##      --> light 72 On

So, what is the perfect Regex?

I tried this:
(.*?\*\1*(\d+)\*72\#\#\*#\*1\#\#)
But obviously, does not work :)

thanks

#1 isn't really a bug, but arguments go both ways. We might add an
option to pad the output with 0's.

#2 is fixed for next release I believe.

Re: Help needed - One button to send two different commands depending on current state

[value] is not a predefined token you can use in commands. So if you
change the capture group to be called "[value]" then it will set a
token on the button called [value] and it should then work as
expected.
You also do not need to define an on and off value if the captured
value is actually a 1 or 0.

In the next release coming soon, you could set your command like this
(assuming button is on digital join 10):
SE 6/0/0=0{{1-[@d10]:0}}\x0A

Help needed - One button to send two different commands depending on current state

Dear support,

I would like to use one button only to send two different commands depending on current state:
  • current state=Off, switching to On:
    • the command should be: SE 6/0/0=01\x0A
    • feedback is: eE 6/0/0=01
  • current state=On, switching to Off:
    • the command should be: SE 6/0/0=00\x0A
    • the feedback is: eE 6/0/0=00

For this, I'm using:

Where could be my mistake?

Second feedback - Maybe found two bugs

Dear support,

Please find below several items about guiDesigned and iViewer (both in last version):
* [Bug] using a slider whose value is configured to "Hex String", min=0, max=255 , the [slidervalue] property outputs 1 char long strings for values < 16, whereas others are made of 2 chars. Could this be formatted the same way (using the maximum length issued from the maximum value for example) to allow unified communication to a custom system?
* [Bug] {{math expression}} seems to behave like {{math expression:}}, ie outputs a double with full decimal points. {{math expression:0}} works as expected

Best regards,

Alexandre Liduena.

Re: VNC Bug

Michael,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Given these instructions I should be able to replicate the bug and fix it rather quickly. I will definitely post an update this week. I figure the time-between-updates to new features complete to bug fix ratio is about right. Thanks again. I should still have your UDID if you were part of the previous ad hoc release.

Thanks again!

[appigo-todo] Appigo Sync works great then not at all

This really baffles me. I use the Appigo Sync on Windows XP to sync
with Outlook. I followed the instructions closely, setup went
smoothly, and everything synced great. Now, about 50% time the red
"service not found" comes up on the itouch when trying to sync.
Appigo Sync is running on my but if I go into the sync settings, it
shows my computer name but says it is not connected. Closing Appigo
Sync and relaunching always fixes the problem... momentarily. It will
sync correctly once or twice before I get the warning and have to
shut down/restart once again. The network is stable and the firewall
is allowing the processes/ports (as evidenced by the fact that it does
sometimes work). I'd really love for someone to figure out this
issue. It's tedious constantly shutting down and reopening Appigo
Sync. It's also frustrating because it keeps the Appigo product at
"satisfactory" when it is so close to being a "superb" answer to my
task management needs.

Since this is in beta, I'm assuming someone at Appigo has been asked
to resolve issues like this one. If you'd like to look at my computer
remotely and/or talk to me on the phone, I'd love to help you move
towards a solution.

Thank you,
Tim

VNC Bug

I have a repeatable (well repeatable on my iPhone 4, w 4.0.2) VNC bug in iSSH.

1) Open a VNC session to a host

2) Bring up the keyboard, leaving it up.

3) Go back to iSSH's connection menu

4) Open another connection to somewhere

5) Return to the VNC session.

At this point, the keyboard/mouse floating icons are lost and the keyboard is still there. There is no way that I can see to get rid of the keyboard at this point short of exiting iSSH itself and reconnecting. Simple closing the VNC connection does not restore the screen. This makes the VNC session rather awkward at this point,

Screen shot available if needed.

New to SSH & iSSH app

Hello all. I purchased this app because I'd like to learn about ssh.
So far all I can figure out how to do with the app is to shutdown my
computer (which isn't the correct way, either, as I've been using the
"halt" command), change directories, and copy files.

In the app description on iTunes, there's screens of using the app to
view the desktop of the computer you're SSH-ing into. Can someone tell
me the command to do that, or better yet, can anyone provide me with
some decent websites that are for n00bs so I can learn SSH? On the
outside looking in, it seems pretty cool.

Thanks for your time :)

Re: Buttons always sending a digital state of 0 and 1

You should do this from the backend side. You will always receive 1
and 0 on press/release, but its up to you to program it so that when
you receive a 1 you do one thing, and receive a 1 again and do a
different thing.
The button state is controlled by you - so if you send back a 1 it
will change to active state, send back a 0 and it will change to
inactive.

If MisterHouse isn't capable of doing this, then you should not use
our built in protocol, but instead use System Manager where you can
control more exactly what buttons send.

Buttons always sending a digital state of 0 and 1

Hi,

i started to write a backend module for iViewer for Misterhouse (Open
Source Home Automation System). By testing I discovered, always when i
press a button on the IViewer on iPad, it sends a digital join for on
and off. e.g.:

d21=1h03
d21=0h03

What I have to do to have a persistant state. Means when I press the
button it sends a "d21=1h03" and the button remains "pressed". If i
Press the button again, it should send a "d21=0h03" and the button
should get released.

Any help would be apresiated.

Thanks
Ernst

[appigo-todo] Appigo Sync re-connection with iPhone 4

Just wanted to report this to help others avoid frustration.

For whatever reason my iPhone 4 was switching back and forth between
my home WiFi network and 3G. Unfortunately I didn't notice this and
thought Appigo Sync was having a problem. So I removed my iPhone from
the device list.

Once I had reset my WiFi and it seemed to stabilize, I tried to re-
authorize my iPhone. I had trouble getting it to appear in the list
and when it did, and I entered the authorization number, Appigo Sync
aborted. This happened a number of times. In the meantime, I was able
to sync from my iPad with no problems.

I was just about to submit a ticket and noticed an entry in the
Knowledge Base for Appigo Sync titled "My device appears and
disappears in Appigo Sync" It has a list of things to try. The first
was to turn off Bluetooth and it worked immediately. Then I turned
Buetooth back on. And yes, it still works.

I don't know if this is iPhone 4 specific. I never had trouble with my
iPhone 3G, even under iOS 4. So if you have trouble check the
Knowledge Base. And thanks to Appigo for posting that list.

Bob

[appigo-todo] No alerts on iPhone 4

With my new iPhone 4 (I was lucky), after rel, oading everything, I'm
not getting alerts/push notifications from Todo. I've tried turning
things off and on. I've made sure that my settings has notifications
turned on and Todo's entries are on. In Todo, it's set for 5 minutes
before and the sound plays when I change it. The e-mail address is
correct.

I'm not getting the notice popping up either, so they're just not
coming through.

It was fine on my iPhone 3G using iOS 4.

Has anyone else seen this?

Of course if Todo 4 has local notifications, then this problem is
moot :-)

Re: Sony Receiver str-de698 codes?

Try a few different sony devices in that database, there are heaps of
"STR-xxxx" devices to choose from.

Otherwise, try asking in the remotecentral forums for help with these
codes - you will have a much higher chance of getting them from their
large membership base.

Re: Showing the iPad status bar

Check our wiki example GUI's category:
http://www.commandfusion.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Example_GUI

Note: There are some issues with setting status bar visibility in the
current release.
The issue is that you cannot set the join via using optional command
target value assignments.
This is fixed in a releasing coming very soon.

Re: Sony Receiver str-de698 codes?

A good place to look for codes is here:
http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/codes/

Try these (not the exact model, but close, so maybe use the same IR
codes):
http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/codes/sony/str-de525/

You need to use the Global Cache CCF to GC IR format converter
software:
http://www.globalcache.com/downloads/

Re: CommandFusion Compatible Heating and Lighting Systems

I'm not 100% sure on this. The plugin I wrote was under the direction
of Fiasco, so he is more familiar with the protocols than I.

The plugin works by parsing a report generated by the RadioRA2
software though, so not sure if that is in the same format for your
hardware (or even if the software for programming your hardware is the
same).

Re: Connection to Global Cache iTach wifi2ir

We did have a plugin coming for GlobalCache devices, but it hasnt been
updated to work with the iTach built in learner.
The plugin will allow you to learn IR commands right from within
guiDesigner directly into your project.

But for now, its quite quick to learn a command in the GC iLearn
software, copy the code into a new command in guiDesigner (remember to
add \x0D).
Then before you go back to iLearn again, learn the next IR button (you
will hear a bip when its done) then ALT+TAB back to iLearn and the new
code will already be highlighted. Just to CTRL+C to copy the code, ALT
+TAB back to guiDesigner, create the new command and paste.

Once you have learnt a remote, you can copy/paste commands between
projects. So you only have to learn each remote once no matter how
many times you create a project for the same device (as long as you
use the same IR port on the GC unit).

Man, that screenshot looks great. Might there be a plug-in available anytime?

Would try working with frmwr 4 and see if it seems stable. Else will
try and edit the module and keep you posted

Thanks

Re: CommandFusion Compatible Heating and Lighting Systems

Greetings. . .

<quote fiasco>
Jarrod created a plugin for CommandFusion for RadioRa2 to import

As radio Ra is not available for the UK market I have bought this module:
http://www.onidserv.com/resources/lutronshop/pdf/grx-ci-nwk-e.pdf

This is the Lutron protocol

Will Jarrod's RadioRa plugin work with the above?
If so could you please send me the plugin Jarrod?

OK, then do you have any recommendation's of a fast way to learn IR commands for devices and get them into CF?

Glad to hear this got sorted in the end :)

There is no database, we are waiting for Global Cache to release
database support within their hardware.
The main reason we have no database for IR codes is because no one
will license us one due to the open format of our final file format.

Development update

Just wanted to let everyone know where development stands. GLX
extensions for X11 have been implemented. DWM has now been integrated
(optionally) with the X server and I plan to go back and do a full
integration with all the bells and whistles as far as DWM control
goes. VNC now has access to the key pie menu and I've sped it up
considerably. Many bugs have been fixed and finally, multiple key
pair management is nearly complete.

I had wanted a little more complete for this upcoming release.
Specifically some of the auto-start stuff, better DWM integration, the
revised UI tab control based UI. However there are several highly
annoying bugs that are fixed and users should start benefiting from
them sooner rather than later.

That being said, once I'm happy with the new multi-key management
stuff I'll be releasing an update with the features mentioned in the
first paragraph.

Also, there is another new feature on the horizon: iLive support and
integration from StarNet ( http://www.starnet.com/ ). This is NX's
cousin and provides exceptionally fast, resumable X server sessions.
This will be made available through an in-app purchase for a nominal
fee. I'll have more details as StarNet gets closer to releasing their
version of the client.

Already fixed this bug for the next release! Sorry about your
problems with the automatic transfer--at least there was a workaround
available. And it shouldn't be necessary for much longer!

Re: Connection to Global Cache iTach wifi2ir

OK, in following up with this issue I have good news.

I was running a SMC wifi router that was working just fine. My laptop was sending commands to the GC iTach perfectly. But the iPad running CF was not. I gave up.

Yesterday I received and hooked up two new routers/access points from Bountiful. They are the most powerful routers allowed by law.

After hooking them up and getting all the PCs back online. I thought I would give CF another try.

I found the new IP that the itach was on using ihelp.exe. I then programmed the new IP into CF and loaded it to the ipad. I clicked a few buttons and the GC responded perfectly and the device responded to the IR blaster!

It is working.

So a change in the wifi router fixed the issue. Not sure why or how. But thanks!

So one last question. Do I have to use ilearn.exe to learn each and every GC command and enter them all into CF manually? Or does CF have device IR command databases that I can auto load some how???

Re: iSSH and irssi/screen?

Yes, automatic connects have been planned for a while. The trick is
more of a matter of properly implementing it with the UI, particularly
in light of the devices that do multitask. Chris's suggestion is a
good one and one I would suggest for the time being. In a near
release connections will have an "autostart" option.
