webviewer was supposed to be (sans the flash). That way you could have
control from any web browser enabled device. IPhone os, android os, or
windows phone 7, or any desktop.
IMO the whole app thing on smart phones is basically analogus with
desk top apps for pc's. Just like desktop app model has seen
obsolesence challenges from web apps that run in the cloud I think
smart phone apps will eventually migrate to the cloud as well. Web
apps offer more cross platform flexibility, quicker deployment, and
general freedom from arbitrary rules like those imposed by the iPhone
app store.
Eventhough i truely think the android market will over take the iphone
market in the next 24 months, my vote is to skip android development
for a universal HTML viewer.
