You can use an assets folder, so long as you have it all setup
correctly. The image path in the theme definitions must be relative to
the asset folder.
Problems arise when people start projects, change asset folders, or
move files midway through.

It sounds like the heartbeat message is not being sent, which would
cause a timeout.
Can you confirm that you have the 'Project Properties' setup to
connect to the Crestron system, whilst the system manager is
completely empty?
System Manager is only for systems that don't use our built in
protocol, whilst the Control System connection details (in project
properties) are where our inbuilt protocol connection details are set.
The reason for these two different connection methods is to make it
easier to program an interface for higher-end control systems that are
capable of handling our protocol, rather than requiring our app to
comply with the control system protocol. You can see more info about
