repeatable crash of 4.3 vnc on iphone 3G iOS4

looks like the multitasking support broke vnc on iphone 3G (that does
not have multitasking). to reproduce:
1. have an iphone 3G :)
2. create a VNC connection, use it
3. quit the app
4. restart and tap the connection again
5. observe the app hang seemingly indefinitely
6. quit again by pressing the home button
7. restart and observe the app crash back to home screen
8. restart again -- this time the app won't crash

importantly, a workaround is to *edit* the connection before step 4 (i
guess then the app clears some connection cache or sth).
