Ah, that's interesting. I didn't even think of trying the built in
Ubuntu VNC server - I have just moved from Kubuntu where the built in
VNC server is simply terrible. Just tried it out and you are right,
with vino it works perfectly.
However, annoyingly when I am using vino I don't get the mouse pointer
showing on the VNC client. In this case, I'm guessing it's probably
vinos fault! Out of interest, can you see the mouse pointer on yours?
If you can, it's probably because I am using Compiz and other such
things which are inherently unstable and awkward to use with VNC
connections. Unfortunately I am trapped into using Compiz due to the
setup I am running, as Ubuntu is a pain to get working with more then
one x-server (running 2 gpus, one utilising twinview - causes a world
of problems! ;) )
