Upload to iPad from remote webserver?

I thought it would have been possible to serve up a GUI File on a web
server. It seems to be connected and a couple items have appeared on
the iPad but at this rate it's going to take a couple days.

Is this a supported / encouraged feature? It would be great for
remote panel adjustments and simple client requests.
