Do you mean using the .screen setup examples? If so, you would need
to choose the alternate key you want to map to F11 and F12, and then
code it in like in my sample .screenrc file.

######paste this into your .screenrc#######
# ALT-minus (-) === F11
bindkey – stuff \033[23~

# ALT-equal(=) === F12
bindkey ≠ stuff \033[24~
#####################################
