Re: [appigo-todo] Re: iCal Sync is Driving Me Crazy

Kilgore,

Thank you for your posts.

We are sorry to hear that you had some issues while using Appigo Sync.

When you sync from Todo, your data is stored in Appigo Sync and your Mac's Sync Services immediately. iCal polls information from your Mac's Sync Services and sometimes it is "lazy" about it. This "lazy" sync causes the following issues:

* Your changes in iCal do not sync with Todo (because iCal has not posted the changes to Sync Services so when Todo syncs with Appigo Sync and Sync Services it finds no changes)
* Your changes in Todo are not reflected in iCal after a sync (this is because iCal has not poll the latest data from Sync Services)

We have become aware of this delay in iCal and we have provided a way to work around it.

1. Open Appigo Sync Preferences in your computer
2. Click the "Advanced" tab
3. Click the "Force iCal Sync" button. This will force iCal to sync with Mac's Sync Services and Appigo Sync.
4. Sync from your Todo

You should not have to go through these steps every time you sync, but we have provided a way to get around iCal's "laziness" in case you need it.

Let us know if this information helps you solve the issue you described.

Here's some more info. Sometimes after a sync, I notice my laptop's
fans spin up. I just had it happen, so I checked Activity Monitor to
see what was eating CPU. Here's what just happened:

- I had completed some tasks on the laptop, so I decided to sync.

- Forced a MobileMe sync and allowed it to complete.

- Opened the iPhone app and pressed the sync button. Got the sync
message, but nothing changed on the phone. Pressed the button again
and the info updated.

- Noticed my fans spin up. Checked Activity Monitor to find the
DashboardClient process taking up between 85% and 97% of CPU.

- After several minutes, fans quieted and DashboardClient back to 0 to
0.2 CPU.

This raise any red flags?
