Opinions on best IR A/V equipment controller hardware, & iTach from Global Chache and an iPad.

I have a few questions:
1) Does anyone have any opinions on which hardware device is best for
controlling A/V equipment in the USA?
2) Is the Global Cache iTach family of product better than their older
GC-100 product?
3) Does the iTach family of products work with the Command Fusion
software?
4) It is more convenient for me to us a wifi product than a wired
product but will this benefit be overcome by the problems I might have
with latency etc over wifi if I chose to use the iTach WiFI to IR
product (WF2IR) instead of the iTach ethernet product (IP2IR)?

Thanks much for any opinions. I am going to be testing the use of an
iPad device to control an A/V installation.
