There are only two ways for the authors to make money out of an iPhone
app (not considering adware): paid app or this licensing system.
The last one lets the installer invoice the license to the customer,
instead of letting only apple get a cut on the price.
Two of my customers switched from the first iPhone to the 3g then 3gs,
and kept the former ones in a drawer or on the coffee table... I
charged them the new license, that's normal.
