Re: Video for RS232 or any relevant documentation

I'm not sure how you "talk" to your denon (globalcache or something
similar I assume)

Here is how I do "power state" indication. Because the Denon has
discrete (seperate) power on and power off commands and Command Fusion
can't send multiple commands from one button I do this: (this is also
an answer to your question about toggling a switch for On/Off)

Create a single button (Digital Join 1). (Your "Turn On" button)
Create a subpage (Digital Join 2)
Create a button on the subpage (Digital Join 3) (Your "Turn Off"
button)

Add the subpage to your remote screen and place it in the exact same
position as your "On" button.

Digital Join 1 will be your button to toggle the "On" state and will
send PWON\x0A\x0D via serial to the receiver.
Digital Join 3 will be your button to toggle the "Off" state and will
send PWSTANDBY\x0A\x0D via serial to the receiver

Now create feedback in the system manager. I don't have a denon in
front of me so I can't remember off the top of my head what the denon
echo's back on a state change. If Denon is like Onkyo it simply
echos the successfull command back.

For your feedback in system manager your going to want to try
something like

feedback name: Power State
regex field: PW(.*)
data type: digital
join: 2
min val: 0
max val: 1
off value: STANDBY
on value: ON

What this is going to do is toggle the state of the subpage (join 2)
based on what the power state of the Denon receiver is. When the
receiver is ON, the subpage is going to overlay your "ON" button in
your remote screen. This now visible subpage contains a button (Join
3) which is your "OFF" button. Clicking the OFF button will turn
your Denon off and cause the subpage to be hidden revealing the "ON"
button again. If you use different artwork for your OFF and ON
buttons, you now have a visual indicator of the power state of your
Denon receiver.
