Thanks Fiasco
Looks like I need more Global Cache devices.
They need to come out with a meatier GC100. (More relays and RS232 Ports) How difficult can it be?

P.S. One thing to look at with A/V Equipment that uses ethernet port control directly is to make sure that it can handle more than one simultaneous connection. If it can't handle more than one and you have multiple controllers they will fight over the single connection. On Jul 19, 10:35 am, Fiasco <dgvoll...@gmail.com> wrote:
Nashon, I control two TV's over network using RS232 (globalcache unit). LG and Pioneer both have great RS232 protocols.   Samsungs protocol sucks as does Mitsubishis. Further, many manufacturers only put RS232 controls on their higher end producs whereas LG puts RS232 ports on damn near every TV they make. You want to avoid any TV that makes you calculate a checksum to send a command (Samsung). Moxa makes a single port Ethernet to RS232 converter or you could use GC unitshttp://store.moxa.com/a/product/nport-5100-series?id=M20090312373 On Jul 19, 4:20 am, Nahshon <spc...@gmail.com> wrote:
Thank you Sarneel for your response. Am I to understand that nobody in this group is controlling televisions directly with a networkover the network?

There is also a topic on the forum about that. But as far as I now, nobody has documentation. I can recommend Sharp tv's.. With rs 232 is the control pretty good. As far Sharp told me, there is no control trough IP.

I have searched the group only apple TV and blueray came up. Is anyone changing channels, volume etc. . with CF over the network? (without IR). If so which brand are you using? Currently shopping for a new TV and while there is the RS232 option on some I would refer direct network control. Any suggestions welcome. . .. Thanks Nahshon- Hide quoted text -
