Are you tapping where it says "Description" or where it says "Required"? It should work if you tap where it says "Required", as I have not seen a problem with this behavior. Basically, Description is the label for the field and tapping does not have an effect. The gray text that says Required or the like is the placeholder where the actual text field is.

Of course, with this problem the app is completely unusable. Please
get back to me with a fix as soon as possible as I am trying to get
set up for a trip.

I am also excited and anxious to use this tool based on the
description in the App Store!
