Mouse clicks in VNC sessions

The documentation says that single taps position the mouse and double
taps act as mouse clicks.

My experience is a little different: Short taps sometimes do mouse
clicks while longer taps always position the mouse. Is it a wanted
behaviour that short taps act as mouse clicks? If so I think the
timing could be adjusted a little bit so that it works more reliably.
