Creating Modules

I'm looking at creating a module to give me the playing/track/album
and so on for CasaTunes. I haven't written any modules before so will
be starting form scratch.

I have read through the developers guide but was curious if anyone had
an example I could have a look at. I tend to find I learn best when I
reverse engineer something and see how it works.
