Are you sure Zinio isn't just bringing up a web portal like the
Facebook or Twitter apps? If it's really jumping to Safari you'll see
the screen zoom in and out. If it's a portal it functions like another
screen within the app.

AFAIK the only way for Safari to call up an app is via a special URL,
which requires it be coded into the web page you're viewing. And
those URLs are limited to special handlers.
