Re: Can't get emacs to work in ssh

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions, and especial thanks to Dean
for this wonderful app.

Kimball nailed it. In the past I've had X11 forwarding disabled, so
when I've called emacs from the CL, it's automatically started in nw
mode. Adding the -nw argument fixes the problem. Now I can run
screen, mutt, and all my beautiful things. It's iPad nirvana, and
I've been wanting this functionality since my Newton 2100.

Best wishes to all,

Andrew

After typing the command, click the x in the upper right to bring you out of the terminal screen (this does not close the connection), then click the X server icon in the upper right to get to the X server screen. If your X11 forwarding is working ok, then you should see the emacs window after a few seconds. Hope this helps.
