I'm not going to break my developer NDA, but watching the public video and reading all the publicly available information not under NDA makes it clear that a persistent connection will not be possible. Yes, you may get the background download, but don't bank on it. 

Someone has to be the voice of reason at the back saying don't get your hopes up.
