Agreed.

I'd happily give up a couple of rows of terminal emulation for better
keyboard input. I expect some people will want translucent widgets,
but that's not my vote.

I see you reconsider this farther down the thread (hi Doug!) but it's
worth adding: I *don't* agree that using a hardware keyboard is "the
real solution". The app should provide the best solution for users
with hardware keyboards, and the best solution for users without them.
They don't have to be the same solution.

I know, it's easy for me to say this when I'm not writing the code...!
