Toodledo offers a free seven-day trial Pro account (at least they used to).  And they have a 30-day money back guarantee even after you buy.  So you've got nothing to lose.

I want to ask the forums about their
experience with using these apps together.  What has been your
experience (good and bad) lately?

Search the Google group archives.  There have been a couple of recent threads about Toodledo syncing, and they've been uniformly positive (except for some issues at the last Appigo upgrade, which sound like they've been debugged and resolved).  Syncing against a Basic Toodledo account will be unpleasant: it will do bad things with your Appigo checklists and projects.
