Can't see the active line in terminal session

After the upgrade, I can't see the active line in my ssh session (it's
covered up by the key board). It's worse in portrait mode. Also, the
cursor covers up the last letter of everything I type so it looks like
I'm missing part of the command - kind of annoying. Please fix soon
as I use this quite a bit and would hate to have to pay for another
application.
