IMVHO, for maximal consistency with other iPhone applications the
following would be true:
Single finger tap: Displays a menu that offers common meta keys and a
way out to the list of active connections and settings.
Single finger drag: send a cursor key event to the terminal
Single finger hold: Pop up the little [Select|Select All|Copy|Paste]
thing that appears in text fields. Tapping outside this would make it go
away (I sometimes have problems stopping selecting text without copying
atm)
Single finger double tap: Display the pie menus. Perhaps rather than
have the centre buttons to flip menus, have them swipeable, with a
little (X) in the corner to make the pie menu go away.
Double finger drag horizontal: swipe between active sessions.
Double finger drag vertical: send scroll event to the terminal
I'm also wondering if it would be worth having a setting for making the
single finger tap menu be rendered in the style of the current toolbar,
to pander to the Emacs monkeys ;D
(and everyone else with legitimate reasons for wanting meta keys to be
easily to hand)
Cheers,
