You can also change the page up/down pie menu keys to be sticky. Of course, then you have to do an extra tap to put the menu away after.

FWIW you can hold down the pie menu keys and it seems to send repeat key
events without building up a huge queue of them. It's not quite ideal if
you need to press PgUp exactly 30 times, but for scrolling back in irssi
or whatever, I find the mobile network is slow enough that I don't end
up going back too far and can just let go of PgUp when I'm in the right
place ;)
