VNC display won't update

Hi,

I just purchased this app for my iPod Touch 64. I'm VNCing to my
Ubuntu Karmic laptop. I've tried via SSH and Raw. I can see the Ubuntu
desktop perfectly in my iPod, but once displayed, the screen never
updates. I can double-tap on a menu, for example, but apparently
nothing happens. If I disconnect VNC and reconnect, then I see that
the menu has opened in response to my tap. But I have to disconnect/
reconnect to see any changes to the screen. Have I missed something?

SSH in a terminal works fine.
