Denon receiver volume ramp??

I have a Denon AVR-1507 with no serial port so I have to control via
IR.
Has anyone done this before? I am sending correct commands to a
GlobalCache WF2IR processor and the commands take extremely long to
process for some reason! It takes forever to ramp volume!
I have messed around with the actual IR code, the repeatcount, and set
the repeat delay on the button properties to several values (100, 200,
500ms). When the delay is set to 100ms and I hold the button down for
a second, it slowly sends out the commands to the Denon over the next
15 seconds ramping it louder.
So clunky and I don't know what else to check! HELP!
Also, I don't think it is the internet connection because the ping is
approx. 15ms consistently.
And I don't think it is the GloblaCache hardware because my DirecTV
DVR commands fire with ZERO delay consistently.

Any ideas or workarounds??
